Prof. Dr. Essam Farahat, Minia University President inaugurated Dokan Al-Farha exhibition that launched by Tahya Misr Fund with the aim of providing free of charge 20.000 clothing items to vulnerable young university students.
The inauguration was attended by Vice President for Community Service and Environment Affairs Prof. Dr. Ayman Hassanen, Faculties’ Deans, General Coordinator of the Student Activities Prof. Dr. Hossam Abd El-Rahem, Manager of the Student Welfare Walid Abd EL-Kawy.
The exhibition receives students at 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for three days starting Sunday 17th November to Wednesday 20th November. Only free 4 pieces are available for each student in order to provide an opportunity for more than 5000 students.
It is noteworthy that Dokan Al-Farha initiative was launched in April 2019 with the aim of implementing social protection activities and programs for the most vulnerable families in all villages and hamlets. Through studying the social situation of the beneficiaries, the initiative is divided into two axes, the first includes organizing exhibitions of new clothes within public universities and orphanages, to support students had social studies in coordination with the student welfare departments in each university. The second part of the initiative was directed to supply the neediest brides to provide marriage facilities for girls.
