As part of its humanitarian role and community
responsibility, Minia University has launched a series of blood donation
campaigns across its faculties, in cooperation with the Minia Regional Blood
Transfusion Center and the General Administration for Student Welfare.
University President Dr. Essam Farahat
emphasized that the initiative reflects the university’s commitment to serving
the community and promoting humanitarian values among students, noting that
blood donation is a national duty that helps save patients’ lives. The
campaigns witnessed a strong turnout from students, faculty members, and staff.
Specialized medical teams conducted health
checks for donors—including vital signs, hemoglobin levels, and screenings for
blood-borne diseases—ensuring donor safety.
Vice President for Education and Student
Affairs, Dr. Mostafa Mahmoud, highlighted that student participation reflects
their awareness of the importance of volunteer work. The campaigns were
organized as part of the university’s plan to enhance students’ life skills and
community engagement.
Organizers also educated participants on the
health benefits of blood donation, including stimulating bone marrow to produce
new blood cells, improving circulation, and enabling early detection of
potential health issues.
