Prof. Dr. Essam Farhat, President of Minia University, was a key participant in an extensive inspection tour today led by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly in Minia Governorate. The distinguished entourage included notable figures such as Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development; Engineer Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities; Major General Emad Kadwany, Governor of Minia; Dr. Sayed Esmail, Deputy Minister of Housing for Infrastructure Affairs; Dr. Mohamed Abo Zeid, Deputy Governor of Minia; Dr. Anwar Esmail, Assistant Minister of Health and Population for National Projects; Dr. Peter Wageeh, Head of the Therapeutic Medicine Sector at the Ministry of Health and Population; Dr. Maha Ebrahim, President of the Specialty Medical Councils Secretariat; and several Members of Parliament from Minia. The primary objective of this tour was to evaluate various pivotal projects, including the Samalout Central Hospital operating under the presidential initiative "A New Beginning for Human Development," the Adwa Water Station as part of the initial phase projects of the presidential initiative "Decent Life," the enhancement project of the Adwa Central Hospital within the initial phase projects of the presidential initiative "Decent Life" for rural Egypt's development, and the Adwa Water Station, being executed within the initial phase projects of the presidential initiative "Decent Life" for rural Egypt development.
During the visit, the Prime Minister underscored the significance of his second field visit to Upper Egypt govern-orates, following Luxor, emphasizing the substantial reduction in travel time to Minia, now taking approximately two to two and a half hours compared to the previous four to five hours, showcasing the substantial improvements in road infrastructure that have facilitated swift accessibility to the region. This enhancement has not only eased entry for investments but has also spurred industrial zone growth in Minia, thereby creating increased employment opportunities for residents of Upper Egypt.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly further emphasized that this visit focused on three key areas—Samalout, Maghagha, and Adwa—which, though smaller compared to Minia and Mallawi, have witnessed significant state-driven service and development project implementations, elevating their regional significance.
Commencing the visit at the Samalout Central Hospital, the Prime Minister reflected on his earlier inspection visit over three years ago, noting the hospital's current operational efficiency in delivering essential medical services including critical surgeries, cancer treatments, and therapeutic care previously unavailable within Minia Governorate. This stands as a testament to the human-centric developmental approach, particularly in vital sectors such as healthcare and education.
