Minia University President Honors Prof. Islam El-Reihany, Winner of the 2025 State Incentive Award in Fine Arts

Prof.Dr. Essam Farahat, President of Minia University, received Prof.. Islam El-Reihany, Lecturer at Painting Department , Faculty of Fine Arts, in the presence of Dr. Gamal Sedky, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts. Dr. El-Reihany was recently awarded the 2025 State Incentive Award in the field of Fine Arts (Painting), in recognition of his distinguished academic contributions and outstanding artistic achievements.

 

During the meeting, Prof.Dr. Farahat praised Prof. El-Reihany’s accomplishments, which reflect the excellence of academic and artistic talent at the Faculty of Fine Arts, as well as their ability to compete in artistic forums both locally and internationally. He highlighted that these successes are the outcome of a fertile academic environment that fosters innovation and excellence, reaffirming the University’s full support for young artists and researchers.

 

University President expressed his aspiration to strengthen the artistic presence on campus and to enhance the positive cultural and aesthetic impact of the University environment. He emphasized the vision of transforming Minia University into a vibrant hub of creativity, where beauty becomes an integral part of its visual and cultural identity—especially as the University approaches its Golden Jubilee.

 

The meeting concluded with President Farahat extending his congratulations to Dr. El-Reihany and presenting him with the University Shield. He stressed that Minia University will continue to provide support and care for its creative talents, enhancing its position as a leading academic and artistic institution.

It is worth mentioning that Dr. Islam El-Reihany has a distinguished record of awards as one of the prominent figures of the contemporary Egyptian art scene. His accolades include awards from the Youth Salon at the Cairo Opera House, the National Bank of Egypt, and participation in more than 70 local and international exhibitions. His artworks are part of the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and the General Authority of Cultural Palaces. Moreover, he has represented Egypt in international art residencies in India, Thailand, Turkey, and Germany, and has published research locally and internationally on conceptual art and open composition in contemporary painting.
