Prof.Dr.
Essam Farhat, President of Minia University, received a delegation from the National
Council for Women – Minia Branch, led by Dr. Nagah El-Telawy and Ms. Samia
Adeeb Ajeibi, to discuss women’s empowerment and institutional partnership.
The
meeting covered the council’s programs in entrepreneurship, economic
empowerment, financial inclusion, family and social support, handicrafts, and
citizen services, as well as mechanisms to raise awareness about violence
against women and initiatives like “Protect Her with Awareness” on and off
campus.
Both
sides emphasized cooperation in creating safe university environments,
supporting women-focused units, and conducting workshops and training for
students and staff. Dr. Farhat highlighted the university’s commitment to community
development, women’s empowerment, and partnerships with national institutions,
especially as the university prepares to celebrate its Golden Jubilee
(1976–2026).
The
meeting concluded with a shared commitment to enhance future collaboration,
implement joint initiatives, and promote sustainable societal awareness in
Minia.
