As part of Minia University’s
preparations for full integration into the Universal Health Insurance System
and the readiness for accreditation inspections by the General Authority for
Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation, Essam
El-Din Farhat conducted an inspection tour of the University
Cardio-Thoracic Hospital to follow up on ongoing development works and assess
technical, structural, and service readiness in line with quality and
accreditation standards.
He was accompanied by university and hospital
leaders, including vice presidents, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine,
engineering consultants, and medical staff.
The President of Minia University stated that
university hospitals are undergoing a comprehensive development phase aimed at
improving infrastructure and medical services in line with Egypt’s healthcare
reform vision, emphasizing that joining the Universal Health Insurance System
is a strategic step to expand healthcare services and ensure sustainable
quality care.
He highlighted the importance of meeting
accreditation requirements of the General Authority for Healthcare
Accreditation and Regulation, noting that institutional accreditation is a key
tool for improving performance and enhancing healthcare quality.
The tour included inspection of the chest
diseases department, endoscopy unit, cardiac surgery department, and
infrastructure development works, including staff facilities and supporting
services, with emphasis on maintaining service continuity during upgrades.
The
visit reflects ongoing efforts to modernize university hospitals and strengthen
their role in providing high-quality healthcare services to citizens in Minya
Governorate and Upper Egypt.
